Cast Away is drama film directed by Robert Zemeckis and stars Tom Hanks. Chuck Noland (Tom Hanks) is the lone survivor of a plane crash. He is left stranded on an isolated island. The film depicts his efforts to survive on the island using remnants of his plane's cargo and his efforts to fend for himself. The film also depicts his relationship with his long time partner Kelly Frears (Helen Hunt).
